| After the Maui wildfires: The road ahead. The immediate recovery efforts from the devastating Maui wildfires continue. We share our community’s anguish over the tragic loss of lives, homes, and businesses, as well as the long and very difficult rebuilding that lies ahead. Our hearts are with those directly impacted by the fires as they navigate indescribable loss and grief. But we trust it is not too soon to begin to consider what the recovery path may entail. UHERO is exploring appropriate frameworks for assessing the devastating impacts of the Maui wildfires, their ongoing effects, and the challenges that will need to be faced to achieve a full recovery. These areas include economic forecasting, housing and urban economics, regional economic development, environmental economics, environmental science, labor economics, public health, public finance, and governance. |

| | & New Chef Team at Kailua's Formaggio Wine Bar Interested in gourmet supper clubs on Oahu? We just learned of a new one and it was fantastic. Chef Cristina Curp, author of "Made Whole" a recipe book of 145+ anti-inflammatory, paleo-keto recipes and creator of "The Castaway Kitchen," and her partner, Chef Nicolas Amoriello, have started a great new monthly pop-up for local foodies on Oahu - The Carnivore Club. This month was the 3rd rendition of the dinner, and typically they are held at a "surprise location" at someone's personal residence. This time, the sumptuous party for 10 was held in the private room space at none other than Kailua's long standing, but usually rather empty, wine bar & restaurant, Formaggio.
