Rule Change Lowers the Down Payment Needed When Buying Multifamily Properties Fannie Mae now says only a 5% down payment is needed to buy a single property with two, three or four homes on it With so few properties for sale, trying to buy just one single-family home on Oʻahu is difficult these days, and high prices and interest rates are only adding to the problem. HONOLULU CITY LIGHTS “Let There Be Peace, Let There Be Light” In 1985, Mayor Frank F. Fasi created a free downtown event that included a lighted tree on the main lawn of Honolulu Hale (.City Hall). Now, it's evolved to a much bigger and spectacular annual event for the whole family. The downtown Honolulu City lights, displayed at Honolulu Hale, is a joyful and amazing spectacle to see. On opening night, the festivities start off with the lighting of the 50 ft Christmas tree, followed by an electric parade of lights. There will be other activities, including food booths, games and rides for the keikis throughout the season. 39th Annual Honolulu City Lights December 2 - January 2, 2023/2024 An extravaganza not to be missed. DOGGIE PHOTOS WITH SANTA!! On Saturday, December 2nd from 7-10 am, meet up with Amy and Lilikoi and the sponsor of this event, Hawaii Dog Foundation, at Kailua Beach (behind the beach park parking lot). Bring your leashed 4-legged family member for photos with Santa Claus, a morning beach walk and a treat from Santa! Donations are welcomed and always appreciated, but not required. At this free event, there’s fun for the whole family with music by The Vitals 808, trolley rides and merry festivities in Kailua. Limited accessible parking spaces will be available at the hospital. All other parking will be at the Kailua Parking Garage in front of Longs Drugs in Kailua Town Center. Trolley pick-up/drop-off will be on the first level of the parking garage from 5 to 9 p.m.
